Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Senior Scientist – Hematology & Medical Oncology to join a dynamic research laboratory within the Tisch Cancer Center in Grand Central, Manhattan. About the Role
As Senior Scientist, you will conduct independent and collaborative research within the Hematology/Medical Oncology division, investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms that drive leukemia progression. Your work will directly support the laboratory's mission to identify therapeutic targets and accelerate the translation of laboratory findings into clinical applications. This role combines rigorous scientific inquiry with the potential for meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental studies using multiple molecular and cellular biology techniques
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets, applying quantitative and qualitative analysis methods
- Collaborate with principal investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students to advance research objectives
- Maintain detailed laboratory protocols and prepare results for publication and presentation
- Contribute to grant writing and regulatory compliance for ongoing research programs
What You Bring
- Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, or related life sciences discipline
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental design and laboratory techniques relevant to cancer biology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to scientific rigor and precision
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for presenting findings to peers and collaborators
- Experience with hematologic malignancies or oncology research is highly valued
