Paraeducator – RISE Program

About the Role

The Paraeducator position in the RISE Program provides direct support to students as they work toward their academic, social-emotional, and physical development goals. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and special education staff, you'll help bridge the gap between instruction and student success through hands-on intervention, mentorship, and individualized support. This role is integral to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students in building core academic skills across multiple subject areas
• Assist with social-emotional regulation strategies and positive behavioral interventions
• Help students develop gross and fine motor skills through structured activities and practice
• Collaborate with teachers and special educators to implement individualized support plans
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the instructional team
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction as directed by supervising educators
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators and support staff
• Patience, flexibility, and genuine commitment to student success
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
• Previous experience working with students or in an educational setting preferred
