About the Role
The Airfield Manager position is central to safe, compliant, and efficient operations at Texas Tech University's Reese National Security Complex (RNSC) airfield in Lubbock, Lubbock County. You'll lead the day-to-day coordination of a diverse flight operation including fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing helicopters, unmanned systems, and experimental platforms. This role demands vigilance in safety protocols, security oversight, and regulatory adherence while supporting the university's aviation and research missions.
What You'll Do
- Direct and coordinate daily aircraft movements and ground operations across multiple aircraft types
- Establish and maintain safety standards, emergency procedures, and security protocols for airfield access and personnel
- Monitor and ensure regulatory compliance with FAA standards and facility policies
- Supervise airfield maintenance schedules, equipment inspections, and facility upkeep
- Manage staff coordination and communication with pilots, crews, and support personnel
- Document operations, incidents, and maintenance activities for record-keeping and analysis
- Coordinate with aviation authorities and external stakeholders as needed
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in airfield operations, aviation management, or similar supervisory aviation experience
- Solid understanding of FAA regulations, airfield safety standards, and aircraft operations
- Proven leadership and communication skills with ability to manage diverse teams
