About the Role

As Principal Software Engineer on our Developer Platform Engineering team within Commercial and Investment Banking, you'll set the technical direction for platform capabilities that empower developers across our organization. This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll drive both hands-on engineering work and architectural decisions that impact our entire developer ecosystem.

What You'll Do

• Own the technical strategy and execution for developer platform capabilities, including APIs, SDKs, and developer tools used across the organization
• Design and architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that serve a broad portfolio of internal and external developers
• Lead cross-functional engineering efforts with teams across Digital Channels and Connectivity, establishing best practices and technical standards
• Mentor and influence engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of technical excellence and architectural innovation
• Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks, making informed decisions about platform modernization and evolution
• Collaborate with product, security, and operations teams to ensure platform reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience as a senior or principal-level software engineer, with a proven track record designing and delivering large-scale systems
• Deep expertise in platform engineering, API design, developer tools, or related domains
• Strong foundational knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms
• Experience with multiple modern programming languages and architecture patterns across the full technology stack
• Demonstrated ability to lead technically complex initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence architectural decisions at scale
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating technical depth
