About the Role
As a General Maintenance Worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you'll take ownership of keeping our buildings and grounds in excellent condition. What You'll Do
- Perform general cleaning, upkeep, and sanitation of building interiors and exteriors
- Maintain grounds including landscaping, grounds care, and seasonal upkeep
- Conduct routine inspections and perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and facility equipment safely
- Follow safety protocols and comply with all state regulations and building standards
- Respond to maintenance requests and address facility issues promptly
What We're Looking For
- Minimum one year of full-time experience (or equivalent part-time) in building custodial work, institution housekeeping, landscaping, groundskeeping, or related maintenance roles
- Ability to safely operate common maintenance equipment and tools
- Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Reliable attendance and professional demeanor
