Origination Manager or Director, Capacity and Energy Storage

Origis Energy Technicians is seeking an experienced Origination Manager or Director specializing in Capacity and Energy Storage projects for our Austin, Texas office. This full-time role offers the opportunity to lead project development initiatives in one of the nation's fastest-growing renewable energy and decarbonization markets.

About the Role

As an Origination Manager or Director of Capacity and Energy Storage, you'll identify, evaluate, and advance battery storage and grid-capacity projects from initial opportunity through development stages. You'll serve as a key business development leader, leveraging your expertise to position Origis Energy Technicians as a market leader in energy storage and decarbonization solutions across Texas and beyond.

What You'll Do

• Originate and source new capacity and energy storage project opportunities in target markets
• Conduct comprehensive feasibility analysis on potential projects, including technical, financial, and regulatory assessments
• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, utilities, developers, and other strategic partners
• Negotiate commercial terms and manage project pipelines from prospecting through commitment
• Develop project-level business cases, financial models, and implementation timelines
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure project viability and alignment with company strategy
• Represent Origis Energy Technicians in industry forums and cultivate market presence in the energy storage sector

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of project development, business development, or origination experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or infrastructure sectors
• Proven track record identifying and advancing successful energy projects or investments
• Deep understanding of battery storage, grid services, and capacity market fundamentals
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and quantitative skills
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities
• Leadership experience managing teams or cross-functional initiatives (for Director-level candidates)
• Knowledge of Texas renewable energy market, regulatory environment, and grid operators preferred
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, or related field
