This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape aerospace and STEM education while supporting the Principal in school operations and student achievement.

About the Role

Mitchell High School seeks a visionary instructional leader to serve as Assistant Principal - Aerospace & STEM. In this full-time, exempt role, you'll report to the Principal and drive excellence across the school's aerospace and STEM programs while contributing to overall school leadership. Working within a 207-day contract year, you'll collaborate with educators, students, and families to advance innovation and career readiness in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

What You'll Do

• Provide instructional leadership and oversight of aerospace and STEM courses and program initiatives
• Support teacher development, curriculum design, and interdisciplinary learning across science and technology fields
• Work with the Principal on school operations, student discipline, and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment
• Evaluate student progress in STEM coursework and connect learning to aerospace and technology careers
• Foster partnerships with community organizations, industry professionals, and higher education institutions
• Champion equity and access in STEM education, particularly for underrepresented student populations
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives that advance student achievement and college and career preparation

What We're Looking For

• Colorado administrative licensure or instructional leadership certification (or eligibility to obtain)
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in education, school administration, or STEM preferred
• Demonstrated experience in school administration, curriculum leadership, or STEM education
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse school communities
• Commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous school improvement
• Knowledge of aerospace and STEM education trends and career pathways
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
