About the Role

As a CDL A Chemical Tanker Owner Operator with Heniff Transportation, you'll operate your own commercial vehicle hauling liquid bulk chemical loads. This is a full-time position offering the independence of owner operator status with the reliability and consistent work that comes from partnering with an established carrier. You'll be responsible for vehicle operation, compliance, maintenance oversight, and on-time delivery while maintaining the highest safety standards in hazardous materials transport.

What You'll Do

• Operate a commercial vehicle equipped to transport liquid bulk chemicals in compliance with DOT and hazmat regulations
• Manage pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
• Load, unload, and secure chemical cargo according to industry protocols
• Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation
• Plan and execute efficient routes while meeting delivery schedules
• Oversee vehicle maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed
• Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding load status and any issues

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL Class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements
• Proven experience hauling liquid bulk or chemical products
• Ownership or ability to secure a chemical tanker-equipped vehicle (pump and air equipped strongly preferred)
• Clean driving record and compliance history
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hazmat transport requirements
• Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to vehicle maintenance
• Professional approach to safety and customer service

Compensation & Benefits

Owner operator pay is structured based on equipment capability: 68% for pump and air equipped vehicles, 67% for pump or air equipped, and 65% for other equipment configurations. All owner operators receive 100% fuel surcharge pass-through, hourly detention pay after 2 hours of unload/offload time, and access to our fuel card program. Contractors with no equipment may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
