Assistant Athletic Trainer

Join Progreso ISD as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, working full-time across our school campuses in Progreso, Hidalgo County. We're seeking a dedicated professional to support our athletes' health, safety, and performance in a fast-paced educational athletics environment.

About the Role

As an Assistant Athletic Trainer with Progreso ISD, you'll play a vital role in keeping our student-athletes healthy and game-ready. Working under the supervision of our head athletic trainer, you'll provide direct care, injury prevention education, and evidence-based rehabilitation services to support athletic programs across all school levels. This is a full-time position offering competitive hourly compensation between $10.70 and $16.06 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do

• Assess, evaluate, and provide immediate care for athletic injuries and illnesses
• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and reconditioning programs
• Conduct pre-participation physicals and health screenings for athletes
• Create injury prevention strategies and educate athletes on safe training practices
• Maintain detailed medical records and document all treatments and interventions
• Collaborate with coaches, parents, and medical professionals regarding athlete health
• Prepare athletes for return-to-play following injury or illness
• Provide sideline coverage at athletic events and practices as assigned
• Maintain and organize athletic training equipment, supplies, and facilities

What We're Looking For

• Current or eligible for BOC (Board of Certification) Athletic Trainer certification
• Completion of an accredited Athletic Training program or equivalent education
• Strong knowledge of athletic injury assessment and treatment protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Physical capability to lift, move, and support athletes during treatment
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards
