Join PG&E Corporation as an Electrical Technician in Tracy, San Joaquin County. This is a full-time, onsite position supporting our Power Generation operations, where you'll maintain and operate critical electrical infrastructure serving Northern California communities.
About the Role
You'll work as an individual contributor within PG&E's Power Generation division, ensuring reliable operation of our hydroelectric, fossil, and renewable energy facilities. This role is essential to delivering dependable power to thousands of customers across our service territory. Based onsite in Tracy, you'll contribute directly to maintaining systems that provide more than 4,000 megawatts of generating capacity.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical equipment and generation systems
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement repairs to restore operations
- Test and verify electrical components comply with safety standards and specifications
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, and distribution hardware
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals
- Document maintenance activities, test results, and equipment status reports
- Follow all electrical codes, OSHA safety regulations, and company operational procedures
- Coordinate with colleagues to support continuous power generation operations
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with electrical systems in industrial, utility, or manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of electrical theory, circuits, and power distribution systems
- Proficiency reading electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to safety compliance and OSHA-regulated work practices
- Flexibility for onsite work at our Tracy facility and varied scheduling
