About the Role

As an After-School Education Specialist with our Brownsville program, you'll work part-time to create a safe, inclusive learning environment where young people thrive. This role is central to our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women and youth in our community. You'll combine instruction, mentorship, and advocacy to support student growth across academic and personal development.

What You'll Do

• Facilitate after-school educational programming and enrichment activities aligned with student interests and learning goals
• Provide academic support and homework assistance in core subjects
• Mentor students and build trusting relationships that encourage confidence and resilience
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
• Create and maintain a welcoming, supportive environment that reflects our commitment to social justice and equity
• Track student progress and communicate updates with families and school partners
• Collaborate with educators, community organizations, and families to support holistic student development
• Model and foster social-emotional learning, leadership, and civic engagement

What We're Looking For

• Passion for youth development and commitment to eliminating barriers to educational equity
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and communities
• Experience in education, youth programs, community outreach, or related fields preferred
• Flexibility and ability to work afternoons/evenings as the role requires
• Demonstrated ability to foster inclusion and model anti-racism principles
