Receiver

Carpenter is hiring a Receiver for our warehouse and receiving operations in Fogelsville, Lehigh County. This full-time position is essential to our supply chain, handling the intake, processing, and distribution of incoming materials and customer returns to keep inventory flowing efficiently throughout our facility.

About the Role

As a Receiver at Carpenter, you'll manage incoming shipments and returns from vendors, branches, and customers. This hands-on role combines physical warehouse work with inventory system data entry, requiring both strong organizational skills and the physical capability to work in a busy receiving environment.

What You'll Do

• Receive and unload shipments from vendors and material suppliers
• Process product returns from branches and customers, routing items to the correct departments
• Physically move merchandise—lifting boxes, pushing carts, and transporting goods to designated warehouse locations
• Document all receiving activity in the inventory control system with accuracy and completeness
• Inspect shipments for quantity verification, damage, and condition compliance
• Communicate with warehouse, operations, and departmental teams to ensure proper placement and tracking of received materials
• Adjust daily priorities and workflow as schedules shift to maintain on-time completion of receiving operations
• Read and interpret measurement tools, shipping labels, and documentation to confirm order accuracy

What We're Looking For

• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise safely throughout your shift
• Familiarity with warehouse environments and basic inventory management systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to record information accurately in digital systems
• Flexibility to adapt to changing daily schedules and operational priorities
• Ability to read measurements, labels, and documentation clearly
• Good communication and teamwork skills across all facility departments
• Reliable attendance and punctual arrival
