About the Role
As a Sewer technician, you will help maintain the integrity and efficiency of the facility’s sewer and drainage systems, ensuring safe and compliant operation while contributing to the company’s sustainability goals.
What You'll Do
- Conduct routine inspections of sewer lines, manholes, and related infrastructure to identify blockages, leaks, or wear.
- Perform cleaning and clearing tasks using appropriate equipment such as jet vacuums, root cutters, and hand tools.
- Carry out minor repairs and assist with larger rehabilitation projects under the guidance of senior staff.
- Document inspection findings, maintenance activities, and repair work in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to emergency sewer issues, coordinating with team members to minimize disruption and environmental impact.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment, and participate in ongoing safety training.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and environmental teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in plumbing, wastewater technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience working with sewer or storm‑water systems, preferably in an industrial or municipal setting.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA and knowledge of environmental compliance practices.
- Ability to operate cleaning and inspection equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance.
- Good communication skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record, as travel between site locations may be required.
