About the Role

Schwan's Company is actively recruiting for a full-time Class B Route Driver position in Lorton. This interim role offers the opportunity to establish yourself within a stable, expanding food distribution organization and grow into a permanent career path. You'll be part of the logistics team that ensures our premium frozen foods reach retailers and food service customers efficiently and reliably.

What You'll Do

• Operate a Class B commercial vehicle to deliver frozen food products on assigned routes throughout Fairfax County
• Load, organize, and unload product inventory according to safety protocols and company standards
• Service multiple customer locations daily, maintaining professional relationships and addressing customer needs
• Verify order accuracy and complete delivery documentation for each stop
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or damage
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies
• Manage your route schedule to meet delivery timelines and customer expectations

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent qualification
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and load 50+ pound packages repeatedly
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently
• Attention to detail for delivery documentation and route management
• Comfort working in cold storage environments when necessary

Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time position with a typical Monday through Friday schedule. The starting salary is $62,000 per year, with opportunities for long-term career growth as this interim role has strong potential to transition into a permanent position.
