Principal Lead Estimator (Hyperscale Data Centers)

Join Oracle as a Principal Lead Estimator (Hyperscale Data Centers) and lead cost estimation and strategic planning for our global hyperscale data center infrastructure expansion. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the United States, offering senior leadership responsibility for one of the technology industry's most critical infrastructure initiatives.

About the Role

As Principal Lead Estimator, you'll serve as the strategic voice for cost estimation across Oracle's hyperscale data center portfolio. You'll develop sophisticated cost models, guide estimation methodology across regions, and drive decisions that shape how we build and optimize world-scale infrastructure. This role combines deep technical estimating expertise with organizational leadership—you'll mentor teams, influence executive strategy, and own the integrity of our project forecasts.

What You'll Do

• Create detailed, defensible estimates for complex data center development, construction, and infrastructure projects spanning multiple US regions
• Lead and mentor estimating teams, establishing best practices and raising technical capability across the organization
• Develop and refine cost estimation processes, methodologies, and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Partner with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to support vendor negotiations and cost reduction initiatives
• Deliver executive-level cost analyses and recommendations that inform major capital allocation decisions
• Assess technical and financial risk, building contingency strategies into project estimates
• Monitor estimate performance against actuals, identifying lessons learned and process improvements

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of estimating experience, with substantial background in data center, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects
• Proven track record as a senior estimator or estimation leader managing complex, multi-million-dollar programs
• Expert knowledge of data center construction costs, equipment procurement, facility systems, and infrastructure labor
• Strong financial acumen: ability to model costs, manage budgets, and communicate financial impact to senior leadership
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Demonstrated leadership ability and experience mentoring teams
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed (estimated 10-20% annually)
