Join Sowega Rising Inc as a full-time Community Canvasser in Albany, Dougherty County, and help mobilize Southwest Georgia residents to improve their quality of life. About the Role
As a Community Canvasser, you'll be the face of our organization in the neighborhoods and communities we serve. You'll engage directly with residents, share information about our advocacy initiatives, listen to community concerns, and build grassroots support for positive change. This role is central to how we connect with the people we work for.
What You'll Do
- Conduct door-to-door and street canvassing to reach community members throughout Albany and surrounding areas
- Explain our organization's mission and current advocacy campaigns in clear, accessible language
- Collect feedback, stories, and concerns from residents about issues affecting their neighborhoods
- Build and maintain relationships with community members to sustain long-term engagement
- Document interactions and gather data to support our advocacy work
- Represent Sowega Rising Inc with professionalism, integrity, and cultural competence
- Collaborate with team members to achieve canvassing goals and participate in training sessions
