Starbucks Barista

Starbucks is hiring a full-time Barista in Cambridge, Dorchester County. In this role, you'll prepare specialty beverages, engage with customers daily, and maintain the quality standards our guests expect.

About the Role

As a Barista at our Cambridge location, you'll combine technical skill with genuine hospitality—expertly pulling espresso shots, steaming milk, and crafting specialty drinks while building relationships with regular customers. You're the energy behind the counter, responsible for order accuracy, smooth transactions, and keeping our café running efficiently during both quiet moments and the morning rush.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based beverages, cold drinks, teas, and food items following Starbucks standards and customer specifications
• Take orders, process payments via point-of-sale systems, and handle cash transactions accurately
• Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and all preparation equipment throughout your shift
• Manage inventory, stock supplies, and rotate products to ensure freshness
• Greet customers warmly, answer menu questions, and make recommendations based on preferences
• Work effectively with teammates to manage service flow and respond to customer requests
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation protocols in all food and beverage handling

Requirements

• Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills with a genuine approach to service
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality
• Ability to handle cash, make change accurately, and work confidently under pressure
• Willingness to work flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
• Prior barista experience is not required—comprehensive training is provided
