About the Role
This full‑time position focuses on keeping the company’s fleet of service vehicles safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations. The technician will work on a second‑shift schedule, performing routine upkeep and repairs directly at various job sites.
What You'll Do
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on trucks, vans, and specialty utility vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manuals
- Perform repairs such as brake service, tire replacement, fluid changes, and component overhauls
- Maintain accurate service records, parts inventories, and work order documentation
- Coordinate with parts suppliers to obtain necessary components in a timely manner
- Ensure all work complies with DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and internal safety policies
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide roadside assistance when required
- Assist in training junior technicians and sharing best practices for vehicle care
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a fleet, automotive, or heavy‑duty technician (minimum 2 years)
- Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and related systems
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL preferred but not required
- ASE certification or equivalent technical training is a plus
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Capability to lift 50+ pounds, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset
