Dental Receptionist

Sage Dental is seeking a Dental Receptionist to join our front‑office team in Dover, Hillsborough County, on a full‑time basis.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for patients, the Dental Receptionist ensures every visit begins with a warm welcome and runs smoothly from check‑in to checkout. This position supports the clinical team by managing appointments, handling insurance verification, and maintaining an organized reception area that reflects Sage Dental’s commitment to personalized care.

What You'll Do

• Greet patients upon arrival and create a friendly, reassuring atmosphere
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and schedule appointments using the practice’s dental software
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and explain coverage details clearly
• Process co‑payments, collect outstanding balances, and prepare daily financial reports
• Maintain the reception area, ensuring it is clean, stocked, and welcoming
• Coordinate with clinicians and assistants to keep the daily schedule on track
• Handle patient check‑out, including scheduling follow‑up visits and providing post‑appointment instructions
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing records, managing supplies, and supporting special promotions

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in dental office administration is a plus
• Previous experience in a dental or medical front‑desk role, preferably with patient scheduling and insurance verification
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to make patients feel comfortable
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar)
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic math aptitude for handling payments and balancing daily totals
• Professional appearance and a positive, team‑oriented attitude
