About the Role

As an Orthopedic Trauma Registered Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries, working closely with surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to support optimal outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and throughout the hospital stay.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of orthopedic trauma procedures, including fracture reductions and postoperative care.
  • Monitor vital signs, neurovascular status, and wound integrity, promptly reporting any changes to the care team.
  • Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and provide pain control tailored to trauma patients.
  • Educate patients and families on injury management, rehabilitation expectations, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and case managers to facilitate timely mobilization and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record while adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in unit‑based quality improvement initiatives and professional development opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Georgia.
  • BSN preferred; ADN with relevant experience considered.
  • Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience, with orthopedic or trauma background strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in orthopedic assessment techniques, traction management, and postoperative orthopedic protocols.
  • Strong communication skills, critical thinking ability, and a commitment to patient‑centered care.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
