Good Samaritan is hiring a Child Care Assistant for our Syracuse, Nebraska facility. This part-time, daytime position offers 20 hours per week in a supportive, faith-based environment dedicated to quality care and compassionate service.
About the Role
As a Child Care Assistant at Good Samaritan's Syracuse location, you'll help create safe, nurturing environments for children in our care. Located at 1720 Linden Street, Syracuse, NE 68446, our facility brings together quality childcare services with our broader mission of serving our community with dignity and purpose.
What You'll Do
- Supervise children during daily activities, play, and learning time
- Assist with meals, snacks, and children's basic care needs
- Maintain safe, clean childcare environments that support child development
- Support childcare staff with program activities and daily documentation
- Communicate positively with families about children's day and progress
- Follow all health, safety, and childcare regulations and best practices
What We're Looking For
- Genuine care and patience when working with children
- Strong communication skills with children, families, and team members
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and remain active throughout your shift
- Commitment to reliability and consistent attendance during daytime hours
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
- Comfort working in a Christian care-focused environment
- Passion for supporting child development and early childhood education
Compensation and Schedule
This is a part-time position offering 20 hours per week during day shifts. Hourly wage: $15.00–$16.25, based on experience and qualifications.
