About the Role
The Food Technician II plays a vital role in our dietary services team, combining culinary skill with attention to detail to support patient nutrition and recovery. You'll work in our medical center's kitchen, executing meal preparation that meets strict food safety standards while adapting to diverse dietary requirements and therapeutic meal plans.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, cook, and plate meals according to established recipes and established portion standards
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and maintain equipment in working condition
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
- Accommodate special dietary needs, including therapeutic and cultural meal modifications
- Maintain an organized, clean work station and contribute to overall kitchen cleanliness
- Collaborate with dietary staff and kitchen team members to meet daily meal service deadlines
- Support training and guidance of entry-level kitchen staff, when applicable
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience in food preparation or commercial kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards
- Ability to use kitchen equipment and tools effectively
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-based environment
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and perform kitchen duties throughout your shift
