Join Alliant Insurance Services as a Lead Compliance Consultant for Employee Benefits. This fully remote position is based in the United States and offers the opportunity to lead a team while providing expert guidance on complex employee benefits compliance matters to our external clients and internal operations teams.
About the Role
As Lead Compliance Consultant, you'll be the technical authority on employee benefits regulations and requirements. You'll help clients navigate the intersection of federal and state compliance mandates, develop robust benefit compliance frameworks, and ensure organizational adherence to evolving regulatory standards. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibility, positioning you as a trusted advisor to both clients and colleagues.
What You'll Do
- Deliver authoritative compliance analysis and recommendations on employee benefit plans, policies, and administrative practices
- Design compliance strategies and content that address client-specific regulatory challenges
- Lead and mentor compliance team members, fostering growth and ensuring quality across all deliverables
- Monitor regulatory changes and communicate implications to clients and internal stakeholders
- Review and advise on employee benefits documentation, plan documents, and disclosure materials
- Provide strategic input to Alliant's Employee Benefits National Operations on industry trends and compliance priorities
- Support client engagements through research, analysis, and documented guidance
What We're Looking For
- Proven expertise in employee benefits compliance, preferably with ERISA, ACA, and related federal and state requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing compliance professionals or technical teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills—ability to translate complex regulations into actionable guidance
- Solid understanding of benefit plan design, administration, and regulatory reporting
- Track record of developing compliance content, analysis, or frameworks
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying aligned with team priorities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in employee benefits, HR, or compliance
