About the Role
The Hy-Chi Department Cook position is essential to keeping our prepared foods operation running smoothly. You'll work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, mastering both traditional and specialty food preparation techniques while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. This role includes night and weekend shifts as part of regular scheduling.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and portion standards
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain proper food storage, inventory management, and stock rotation practices
- Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to meet health department requirements
- Assist with plating, packaging, and presentation of prepared foods for customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and customer demand
- Support training of other team members and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Help monitor product freshness and quality throughout your shift
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a food preparation or kitchen environment (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as scheduled
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards
- Teamwork mindset with reliability and punctuality
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle food preparation tasks
- Willingness to learn new techniques and take direction from management
- Customer service orientation and professional kitchen conduct
