Security Officer

About the Role

As a Security Officer at this Jersey City property, you will serve as a visible, trusted presence throughout the hotel, safeguarding guests, employees, and assets during assigned shifts. What You'll Do

• Conduct regular patrols of all hotel areas including lobbies, guest floors, parking facilities, and exterior grounds
• Monitor access points and surveillance systems to detect and deter unauthorized entry or suspicious activity
• Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and guest concerns
• Prepare clear, accurate incident and activity reports at the end of each shift
• Coordinate with hotel management and, when necessary, local law enforcement agencies
• Enforce property policies and procedures in a respectful, service-oriented manner
• Provide assistance and directions to guests, projecting a courteous and professional image at all times

What We're Looking For

• Valid New Jersey Security Officer Registration (SORA license) or ability to obtain one prior to starting
• Prior experience in security, loss prevention, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred
• Strong situational awareness and the ability to assess and de-escalate tense situations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and guest interaction
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance in all circumstances
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol throughout an entire shift
• High school diploma or equivalent required
