We're seeking an experienced Innovation Enablement Director to lead transformative initiatives at Carelon, part of Elevance Health, a national health benefits and healthcare technology company based in the US. This is a full-time, in-office position requiring three days per week on-site, blending collaborative teamwork with flexibility to optimize productivity and support work-life balance.
About the Role
As Innovation Enablement Director at Carelon, you'll drive the strategy, development, and execution of innovation programs that unlock new capabilities across the organization. This leadership role bridges enterprise vision and frontline execution, creating pathways for teams to test, learn, and scale breakthrough solutions in healthcare services and technology.
What You'll Do
- Develop and oversee innovation strategy, frameworks, and governance that align with Carelon's broader organizational goals
- Build and mentor innovation teams, fostering a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and calculated risk-taking
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that identify market opportunities and translate them into viable products, services, or operational improvements
- Establish metrics, reporting structures, and accountability mechanisms to track innovation pipeline health and program impact
- Partner with executive leadership to secure resources, sponsorship, and organizational alignment for high-priority initiatives
- Guide teams through innovation methodologies, coaching on design thinking, agile processes, and rapid prototyping
- Communicate innovation value and progress to stakeholders at all organizational levels
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in innovation management, product development, or organizational leadership roles
- Proven track record scaling innovation programs, launching new offerings, or leading transformational change in complex organizations
- Strong strategic thinking coupled with hands-on project management capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence across levels and functions
- Familiarity with healthcare, insurance, or health technology industries is a strong plus
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
