Employment Specialist

About the Role

As an Employment Specialist, you'll provide comprehensive employment support and career development services to help clients overcome barriers to work and build sustainable careers. Your role centers on understanding each client's unique strengths, interests, and challenges—then connecting them with real job opportunities and the resources needed to succeed.

What You'll Do

• Assess client strengths, interests, work history, and employment barriers through individual consultations
• Develop personalized employment plans that align with each client's career goals and abilities
• Provide direct job search support, including resume development, interview coaching, and application assistance
• Identify and cultivate relationships with local employers to locate job openings and create placement opportunities
• Deliver ongoing job coaching and support to help clients start employment and advance in their positions
• Document client progress, outcomes, and employment placements accurately and thoroughly
• Coordinate with case managers and clinical staff to ensure employment goals integrate seamlessly into comprehensive client treatment plans

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
• Demonstrated experience in employment services, vocational coaching, career counseling, or related field
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening abilities
• Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health or developmental backgrounds
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Comfort using computers and electronic data management systems
• Commitment to client-centered approaches and recovery-oriented practices
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
