Mental Health Systems, Inc. is hiring a Certified Peer Specialist in Oceanside, San Diego County to help individuals on their journey toward mental health recovery. About the Role
As a Certified Peer Specialist with our TURN program in Oceanside, you will draw on your own recovery experience to guide, encourage, and walk alongside clients. Working within a client-centered model of care, you will deliver education, hands-on support, and recovery-focused interventions that empower people living with mental health challenges to build healthier, more independent lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer peer-to-peer encouragement and emotional support rooted in shared lived experience.
- Provide recovery education that helps clients understand and manage their mental health.
- Carry out supportive interventions that advance each client's personal recovery goals.
- Champion a client-centered approach in every interaction, keeping the individual at the center of their care.
- Collaborate with the care team to connect clients with appropriate resources and services.
Qualifications
- Active Peer Specialist certification.
- Personal lived experience with mental health recovery.
- Genuine commitment to supporting others in a purpose-driven setting.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Oceanside, San Diego County (this is not a remote position).
