About the Role
As an Oncology Patient Care Technician at Providence Mission Hospital, you'll deliver hands-on support to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other specialized treatments. Working nights allows you to provide dedicated care to patients who benefit from consistent support during overnight hours, while collaborating with experienced oncology nurses and a specialized cancer care team.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient assistance with personal care, hygiene, positioning, and mobility
- Monitor vital signs, record measurements, and report clinical changes to nursing staff
- Maintain clean and safe patient rooms and assist with specimen and sample collection
- Offer compassionate support and comfort measures to oncology patients during treatment
- Work collaboratively with nurses and care team members during night shifts
- Safely transport patients and assist during medical procedures and care transitions
What We're Looking For
- Patient Care Technician certification or equivalent healthcare credential required or obtainable
- Genuine compassion for cancer patients and their families
- Strong communication and safety awareness
- Physical ability to assist patients and remain on feet throughout shifts
- Reliable commitment to consistent night shift scheduling
- Experience in acute care or patient support environments valued
