Join Dubuque Community Schools as a full-time Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Industrial Technology teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We're seeking an experienced educator to lead hands-on instruction in industrial technology at our high school campuses in Dubuque, Iowa.
About the Role
This is a full-time teaching position focused on career and technical education in industrial technology. You'll work at one of our high school locations, delivering comprehensive instruction that equips students with practical skills and knowledge for both college and career pathways. This role emphasizes project-based learning, equipment operation, safety protocols, and real-world applications of industrial principles.
What You'll Do
- Plan and deliver engaging industrial technology curriculum aligned with state standards and CTE frameworks
- Supervise students in hands-on lab and shop environments, ensuring proper equipment use and safety compliance
- Assess student progress through practical assignments, projects, and assessments
- Maintain equipment and facilities in safe, functional condition
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to integrate academics with career pathways
- Communicate regularly with students and families about progress and opportunities
- Participate in professional development and stay current with industry standards
What We're Looking For
- Valid Iowa teaching license or eligibility for licensure
- 5–12 Industrial Technology endorsement (required)
- Strong background in industrial technology, manufacturing, or related technical field
- Demonstrated ability to teach diverse learners and differentiate instruction
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
