Global Financial Crimes Senior Investigator (Brokerage) at Bank of America in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a full-time position dedicated to investigating financial crimes across our brokerage operations and safeguarding our clients, business, and brand through rigorous investigative work.
About the Role
As a Senior Investigator in our Global Financial Crimes team, you'll lead complex investigations into suspected financial crimes, including fraud, money laundering, sanctions violations, and other regulatory violations affecting our brokerage business. You'll work at the forefront of financial crime prevention, combining analytical rigor, industry expertise, and investigative judgment to uncover patterns, build cases, and drive resolutions. This role requires both technical depth and executive presence—you'll present findings to senior management, legal teams, and compliance leadership while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external law enforcement when appropriate.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive investigations into suspected financial crimes involving brokerage activities, trading violations, account manipulation, and related misconduct
- Analyze transaction data, account histories, communication records, and market activity to identify suspicious patterns and establish timelines
- Develop investigative strategies, prioritize leads, and manage investigations from initiation through resolution
- Document findings clearly and completely, producing investigation reports suitable for regulatory review, legal proceedings, or law enforcement referral
- Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, and other teams to ensure appropriate escalation and response
- Mentor and guide junior investigators; share expertise and best practices across the team
- Stay current on emerging financial crime trends, regulatory expectations, and investigative methodologies
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in financial crimes investigation, compliance, law enforcement, or closely related field
- Demonstrated expertise in investigating fraud, money laundering, sanctions violations, or securities-related misconduct
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex findings clearly to diverse audiences
- Familiarity with brokerage operations, securities markets, or financial institutions a plus
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Professional judgment, integrity, and commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical standards
