About the Role
You'll provide essential mental health services within a correctional healthcare environment. This position is integral to our clinical team's work in behavioral health assessment, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support for individuals in our care.
What You'll Do
- Conduct mental health evaluations for inmates placed on suicide precautions, assessing self-harm and suicide risk
- Perform clinical interviews and psychological assessments to guide treatment planning
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support individuals experiencing mental health crises during incarceration
- Communicate clinical findings to attending physicians and recommend appropriate referrals or psychiatric consultation
- Receive, evaluate, and prioritize mental health requests from medical and correctional staff
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate clinical documentation and confidential health records
- Collaborate with healthcare and custody team members to deliver integrated, coordinated care
What We're Looking For
- Professional credential or license in mental health, counseling, social work, or clinical healthcare
- Prior experience assessing mental health or managing behavioral health in correctional or secure settings
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate suicide risk and respond effectively to mental health crises
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent documentation capability
- Ability to work effectively and professionally within a secure, structured correctional environment
- Commitment to ethical practice, client confidentiality, and evidence-based mental health care
