Penn State Health is seeking a Graduate Nurse to join our Heart & Vascular Critical Care Unit at Hershey Medical Center in Swatara, Dauphin County. This full-time position offers an exceptional entry-level nursing opportunity for newly licensed or soon-to-be-licensed registered nurses eager to launch their career in acute care nursing.
About the Role
As a Graduate Nurse, you'll develop clinical expertise while providing compassionate patient care in our specialized heart and vascular critical care setting. You'll work alongside experienced nurses and interdisciplinary teams in a supportive learning environment designed to foster professional growth and clinical competence from day one.
What You'll Do
- Deliver direct patient care to adults with acute cardiac and vascular conditions
- Monitor vital signs, interpret clinical data, and report changes to the care team
- Administer medications and manage intravenous therapies under supervision
- Maintain detailed, accurate clinical documentation and patient records
- Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, and interdisciplinary staff to support comprehensive patient outcomes
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families
- Adhere to all evidence-based nursing protocols and safety standards
What We're Looking For
- Current or pending Active RN (Registered Nurse) license in Pennsylvania
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) or ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) from an accredited program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think critically and respond effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Commitment to providing patient-centered, compassionate care
- Flexibility to work varied shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
