The City of Jonesboro is hiring an Animal Services Officer for our Animal Services Division in Jonesboro. This is a full-time position where you'll enforce animal protection laws, respond to safety threats involving animals, and care for companion animals in our community.

About the Role

As an Animal Services Officer, you'll serve on the front lines of public safety and animal protection. Reporting to the Director of Animal Services, you'll balance law enforcement authority with compassionate animal care, working to keep Jonesboro residents and animals safe.

What You'll Do

  • Enforce the City's animal ordinances and state animal laws across Jonesboro and Craighead County
  • Conduct thorough investigations into animal cruelty, neglect, and abuse complaints
  • Respond to animal bite and attack incidents, assess hazard levels, and take appropriate control measures
  • Capture, safely contain, and provide care for stray and abandoned animals pending adoption or placement
  • Implement wildlife control and nuisance animal removal using humane practices

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Arkansas driver's license and dependable transportation
