About the Role

As a Special Education Career Consultant and Job Coach, you'll guide students and adults through career exploration, skill development, and employment placement. Working with Career and Employment Options' partnership with school districts and through ACCES-VR (Access to Careers and Employment Support—Vocational Rehabilitation), you'll provide direct instruction, hands-on coaching, and individualized support to help people with disabilities achieve employment goals.

What You'll Do

• Assess and develop job readiness skills including communication, workplace etiquette, and safety awareness
• Create individualized career plans aligned with each person's strengths, interests, and abilities
• Provide on-the-job coaching and support in community work settings
• Facilitate communication between employers, school staff, families, and support services
• Track progress and adjust coaching strategies to ensure successful employment outcomes
• Collaborate with transition teams at school districts to coordinate services
• Assist with ACCES-VR eligibility determination and service planning

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent, with prior experience in special education, career services, or job coaching preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work compassionately and effectively with individuals with diverse disabilities
• Reliability and commitment to supporting people toward employment independence
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for in-community coaching
