About the Role

As Head Boys Basketball Coach, you'll oversee all coaching responsibilities for the boys basketball program at Simi Valley Unified School District. This part-time position includes a coaching stipend and provides the chance to mentor young athletes, design game strategy, and create a positive team culture that balances competitive success with student development.

What You'll Do

• Plan and conduct daily practice sessions focused on basketball fundamentals, conditioning, and skill refinement
• Develop game strategies and offensive/defensive systems tailored to your roster
• Manage game operations, including roster management, equipment, and athlete eligibility compliance
• Mentor student-athletes in leadership, discipline, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility
• Communicate with parents, families, and school administration about team performance and athlete development
• Build team culture that prioritizes both competitive excellence and character development
• Maintain compliance with athletic conference standards and Simi Valley Unified School District policies

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated coaching experience at the high school level or competitive equivalent
• Deep knowledge of basketball fundamentals, tactics, and game management
• Proven ability to motivate and develop athletes across different skill levels
• Valid California teaching credential or current NFHS coaching certification
• Current or ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
• Strong communication skills and commitment to athlete development and academic success
• Ability to pass background clearance as required by Simi Valley Unified School District
