About the Role
The Health Care and Public Health Program (HCPH) operates within the Center for Health, People, and Places, investigating how preventive, primary, and specialty health care services reach populations across their lifespan. As a Research Associate, you'll support a team of accomplished researchers tackling complex questions in health policy, delivery system design, and public health infrastructure—helping to translate evidence into actionable recommendations for policymakers and health care leaders.
What You'll Do
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize peer-reviewed evidence on topics including patient safety, health care financing mechanisms, and workforce pipeline development
- Support data collection, analysis, and visualization for research studies examining health care delivery outcomes and public health system capacity
- Prepare research summaries, briefing materials, and talking points for senior researchers, institutional partners, and policy audiences
- Coordinate with external stakeholders including health systems, government agencies, and subject matter experts to strengthen research design and relevance
- Maintain research databases and documentation to ensure data integrity and compliance with institutional standards
- Contribute to the development and refinement of research methodologies and survey instruments
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in public health, health policy, epidemiology, health services research, or related field
- Strong writing and communication skills with demonstrated ability to distill complex information for diverse audiences
- Familiarity with health care systems, public health policy, or epidemiological research
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and comfort working with quantitative and qualitative information
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
