Physical Therapist Days Schedule

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Waco seeks a full-time Physical Therapist to join our clinical team in Hewitt, McLennan County. About the Role

As a Physical Therapist on our day shift, you'll deliver evidence-based interventions to medically complex patients recovering from orthopedic surgery, neurological injury, cardiopulmonary conditions, and other diagnoses requiring specialized inpatient rehabilitation. You'll design and implement individualized treatment plans, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists, and document patient outcomes that drive continuous improvement in rehabilitation care.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations using standardized measures and clinical reasoning to establish rehabilitation potential and functional goals
• Develop and modify treatment protocols targeting mobility, strength, balance, pain management, and activities of daily living
• Progress patients safely through increasing levels of independence while managing medical complexity and comorbidities
• Mentor and supervise physical therapy aides and technicians in delivering prescribed interventions
• Communicate progress and recommendations to patients, families, and the broader care team
• Maintain thorough, timely clinical documentation meeting regulatory and institutional standards

What We're Looking For

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist
• Strong clinical foundation in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation
• Experience in acute or inpatient rehabilitation settings preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and team members
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and professional growth
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment
