Burns & McDonnell is hiring a Project Manager for Transmission & Distribution in the Mid-Atlantic region, based in Fort Myer, Arlington County. In this full-time role, you'll lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of critical T&D projects while partnering with senior leadership and teams across multiple business units.
About the Role
You'll report directly to the Transmission & Distribution Manager of Projects and take ownership of executing projects and business pursuits across multiple transmission and distribution lines within the region. Your work will span Transmission Line, Distribution Modernization, Underground & Submarine Cables, Networks Integration & Automation, and other T&D business areas.
What You'll Do
- Plan, schedule, and oversee T&D projects from initial scope through successful delivery
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines across multiple assigned business units
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, and field teams to ensure project objectives are met
- Identify risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and manage stakeholder expectations
- Track project progress, deliver status reports, and implement corrective actions
- Support business development for new transmission and distribution pursuits in the Mid-Atlantic market
What We're Looking For
- Proven project management experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities with capacity to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills for engaging internal teams and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with project management software and scheduling tools
- Knowledge of transmission, distribution, or related utility infrastructure (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or related field
