Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and run practices, conditioning sessions, and competitive games throughout the season.
- Coach and mentor student-athletes in fundamental and advanced basketball skills, strategy, and game preparation.
- Promote academic responsibility, positive conduct, and good sportsmanship among players.
- Oversee team logistics, equipment, and player safety in coordination with district athletics staff.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, families, school administrators, and officials.
- Uphold all Salem School District, league, and state athletic policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of girls basketball, including techniques, strategy, and game management.
- Prior coaching or playing experience at the school or competitive level is preferred.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication abilities.
- Commitment to the safety, growth, and well-being of student-athletes.
- Ability to meet any certification, clearance, or licensing requirements set by the district and state.
