About the Role
This position sits within Black & Veatch's advisory practice, where consultants provide specialized transaction support across the energy, water, and infrastructure sectors. As a Transactions Advisory Consultant, you will guide clients through complex deal processes — from early-stage evaluation through close — delivering the technical and commercial insight that drives sound investment decisions.
What You'll Do
- Conduct technical and commercial due diligence on infrastructure, energy, and utility assets on behalf of buyers, sellers, lenders, and equity sponsors
- Develop and review financial models to assess asset performance, risk exposure, and investment returns
- Prepare clear, well-structured advisory reports and client-ready presentations that translate complex findings into actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams — including engineers, economists, and legal advisors — to deliver integrated transaction support
- Evaluate market conditions, regulatory frameworks, and operational factors that affect asset valuation and deal structure
- Support the full transaction lifecycle, including project finance structuring, asset acquisition, and portfolio optimization engagements
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, responding to evolving deal requirements with accuracy and professionalism
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, business, or a closely related discipline; advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure transactions, M&A advisory, project finance, or investment analysis within the energy or utility sectors
- Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills
- Ability to synthesize technical data alongside commercial and market intelligence into coherent client deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting findings to senior stakeholders
- Capacity to manage multiple concurrent engagements in a deadline-driven environment
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute meaningfully within diverse, cross-functional teams
