Transplant Donation Specialist – PRN/part-time (Transplant Center)

UT Health San Antonio is hiring a part-time (PRN) Transplant Donation Specialist to support life-saving organ donation and transplantation services at our Transplant Center in Balcones Heights, Texas.

About the Role

As a Transplant Donation Specialist at UT Health San Antonio, you will help coordinate the clinical and logistical steps that make solid organ donation and living donation possible. Working under direct supervision, you will plan and carry out donation-related activities, including evaluating donor organ offers and overseeing renal pulsatile perfusion. This is a PRN/part-time position based on-site in Balcones Heights, ideal for a detail-oriented professional who wants flexible scheduling within a leading academic transplant program.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate transplantation and living donation activities, supporting both planning and day-to-day implementation.
• Facilitate and review solid organ donor offers to match available organs with appropriate recipients.
• Manage renal pulsatile perfusion for kidneys to help preserve organ viability.
• Act as a primary point of contact for transplant center clients throughout the donation services area.
• Register prospective recipients onto the national transplant waiting list and keep records accurate and current.

Qualifications

• Comfort working under direct supervision while managing time-sensitive donation tasks with accuracy.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for liaising with transplant center clients and clinical teams.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow established clinical and regulatory protocols.
• Availability for a PRN/part-time, on-site schedule in Balcones Heights, Texas.
