About the Role

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC), part of the College of Veterinary Medicine, is adding a compassionate, skilled Veterinary Nurse to its Small Animal Intensive Care Unit team. In this part-time position based in Manhattan, you will deliver attentive, high-quality care to critically ill and recovering patients while collaborating closely with clinicians and fellow nursing staff. Candidates may be considered at the Nurse I, II, or III level depending on experience and credentials.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, around-the-clock supportive care for critical and unstable small animal patients in the ICU.
• Set up, operate, and monitor medical and diagnostic equipment used in intensive care settings.
• Perform or assist with treatments, procedures, and patient monitoring under the direction of the veterinary team.
• Track patient status closely and communicate changes to clinicians promptly.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked treatment environment.

Qualifications

• Background or training appropriate to a Veterinary Nurse I, II, or III classification.
• Comfort working with critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment.
• Familiarity operating veterinary medical equipment and assisting with clinical procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and clear communication.
• Genuine commitment to exemplary, patient-centered care.

About Part-Time

This role is offered on a part-time basis through the Veterinary Health Center within the College of Veterinary Medicine. You will be part of a dedicated ICU team in Manhattan, contributing to a teaching hospital environment focused on excellent animal care and professional collaboration.
