Lilly is hiring an Associate Vice President, Global & US Medical Affairs — Rheumatology, Respiratory, & Emerging Immuno-Metabolism to help advance life-changing medicines from our base in Uptown, Marion County. About the Role
As Associate Vice President of Global & US Medical Affairs, you will provide scientific and strategic leadership across three connected therapeutic areas: rheumatology, respiratory, and emerging immuno-metabolism. Based in Uptown, Marion County, this senior on-site position blends clinical insight, cross-functional partnership, and enterprise-level direction to ensure our medical strategy reflects real patient and physician needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and steer the global and US medical affairs strategy for rheumatology, respiratory, and immuno-metabolism portfolios.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary medical teams, fostering scientific excellence and accountability.
- Translate clinical evidence into medical plans that support appropriate use of therapies and improve disease understanding.
- Build trusted relationships with external experts, healthcare providers, and the broader scientific community.
- Partner closely with research, development, regulatory, and commercial colleagues to align medical priorities across the enterprise.
- Champion data generation, evidence dissemination, and the highest standards of scientific and ethical integrity.
Qualifications
- Advanced clinical or scientific degree (such as MD, PharmD, or PhD) in a relevant discipline.
- Substantial leadership experience in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
- Therapeutic depth in immunology, rheumatology, respiratory, or metabolic disease areas.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence across global and US functions.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient-focused mindset.
