Respiratory Therapist / Part-Time Days

Select Medical is hiring a part-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) in Effingham, South Carolina, to deliver expert respiratory care for critically ill patients recovering after intensive care.

About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapist with Select Medical in Florence, SC, you will join a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to advanced inpatient, post-ICU care. Our team supports chronic, critically ill patients who need extended time to heal and regain their strength. This is a part-time, day-shift position scheduled two days each week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with hourly pay ranging from $31.08 to $41.00.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled respiratory therapy to post-ICU and medically complex patients throughout their recovery journey.
• Assess respiratory status, administer prescribed treatments, and adjust care plans in collaboration with physicians and the clinical team.
• Manage and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support for chronic, critically ill patients.
• Document patient progress accurately and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Educate patients and families to support safe transitions and ongoing healing.

Qualifications

• Credentialing as a Respiratory Therapist (RT) with licensure to practice in South Carolina.
• Clinical knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory care for acutely and chronically ill patients.
• Availability to work part-time day shifts, two 12-hour days per week (7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.).
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills in an inpatient hospital setting.
