About the Role
As a Civil Rights Defense Attorney with Rock Fusco & Connelly, LLC, you will defend municipalities, police departments, and public officers against civil rights claims. Based in our downtown Chicago office, you will manage matters from initial pleadings through trial, working alongside seasoned litigators on complex and high-profile cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent government entities, law enforcement agencies, and public officials in civil rights defense litigation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and dispositive briefs across all phases of a case.
- Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials while developing effective case strategy.
- Counsel clients on liability exposure and recommend sound litigation approaches.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm's municipal law and business litigation practices.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Illinois and good standing with the bar.
- Background in civil rights defense, municipal law, or related litigation preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently in a fast-paced firm environment.
