Key Responsibilities

• Carry out blood bank and transfusion-related laboratory testing using established protocols and instrumentation.
• Conduct blood typing, antibody screening and identification, and compatibility testing to support transfusion services.
• Review, interpret, and report results promptly while maintaining strict accuracy and documentation standards.
• Follow quality control, safety, and regulatory requirements to safeguard the integrity of every specimen and result.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow laboratory staff to resolve questions and ensure timely turnaround.

Qualifications

• Education and credentials consistent with a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientist role, including applicable certification where required.
• Knowledge of immunohematology and blood bank testing principles and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Availability to work on-site in Gretna, Jefferson Parish.
