About the Role

As the R1 Board Op_Producer based in Indianapolis, you will operate the control board for live and recorded broadcasts, manage program transitions, and partner closely with on-air talent to deliver a polished listening experience. This is an on-site position that puts you at the heart of daily radio production, where timing, accuracy, and quick thinking matter every minute you are on the clock.

Key Responsibilities

• Run the audio control board for live shows, syndicated programming, and pre-recorded segments
• Cue and air commercials, sponsorships, station IDs, and promotional spots on schedule
• Coordinate smooth handoffs between programs, talent, and breaks to maintain seamless airflow
• Monitor broadcast signal quality and resolve audio issues quickly to avoid dead air
• Maintain accurate program logs and follow FCC and station compliance requirements
• Support producers and hosts with technical setup, recording, and post-production tasks

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with audio board operation, broadcast automation, or radio production preferred
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay composed under live, time-sensitive conditions
• Familiarity with digital audio software and broadcast equipment
• Reliable availability for a full-time, on-site schedule that may include evenings, weekends, or holidays
• Team-oriented communication skills and a genuine passion for urban media and music
