Hereford ISD is hiring a full-time Girls Basketball/Track Coach and Teacher at Hereford Junior High in Hereford, Deaf Smith County, with the specific teaching assignment to be determined. About the Role
As the HJH Girls Basketball/Track Coach and Teacher, you will balance two rewarding responsibilities: delivering quality instruction in your assigned subject and leading our girls' basketball and track programs. You will mentor student athletes both academically and athletically, helping them grow in skill, discipline, and character within the framework of University Interscholastic League (UIL) competition.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach an assigned subject area at the junior high level (specific assignment to be determined).
- Plan, organize, and direct the girls' basketball and track programs.
- Coach, train, and supervise student athletes during practices, competitions, and related activities.
- Apply sound coaching methods, techniques, and procedures to develop athletic performance.
- Ensure full compliance with all University Interscholastic League (UIL) regulations.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and motivating environment for academic and athletic achievement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with the endorsements required for the assigned subject and grade level.
- General knowledge of coaching techniques, methods, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules and guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct, supervise, and motivate student athletes.
