Make a measurable difference in people's lives as a Vocational Specialist (Job Coach / Employment Specialist) with InVision Human Services in Pittsburgh. In this full-time, community-based role, you'll champion individuals who face barriers to traditional employment and guide them toward meaningful work.
About the Role
Operating from our Wexford office, this Vocational Specialist position involves substantial fieldwork, with roughly 50–75% travel across Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding region. As a dedicated job coach and employment specialist, you'll partner one-on-one with the people you serve, supporting them through every stage of their journey toward meaningful employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advocate consistently for individuals who encounter obstacles to conventional employment opportunities.
- Work directly with each person to plan and carry out all phases of their vocational and employment goals.
- Provide hands-on job coaching, skill-building, and on-site support throughout Western Pennsylvania.
- Travel regularly (approximately 50–75% of the time) to meet individuals where they live, train, and work.
- Collaborate with employers, families, and community partners to create lasting employment outcomes.
Qualifications
- A genuine commitment to supporting people who experience barriers to traditional employment.
- Willingness and ability to travel 50–75% throughout Western Pennsylvania and nearby areas.
- Strong interpersonal, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
- Reliable transportation and the flexibility to work from our Wexford office and out in the community.
- A person-centered approach focused on each individual's strengths and aspirations.
